Introduction

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of CardKit and its browser-based tools. By using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Purpose of the service

CardKit provides browser-based utilities and educational information intended to help users perform common website, template, image and code-editing tasks.

CardKit is not a replacement for professional development, security, legal or technical advice.

2. Use at your own risk

CardKit tools are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Website templates, codebases, browsers and third-party platforms vary substantially. CardKit does not guarantee that:

  • Every code snippet will render correctly
  • Every template will remain compatible
  • Every output will work in every platform
  • Every external library will continue to function
  • Every image or code transformation will produce the result expected by the user

Users are responsible for reviewing output before publishing or replacing original content.

3. Keep backups

Users should retain copies of original files, code and content before making changes. Do not permanently replace an original file until the edited result has been tested.

4. User responsibility

Users are responsible for:

  • Content they process
  • Code they paste
  • Files they open
  • Links they insert
  • Content they publish
  • Compliance with third-party platform rules
  • Having permission to use the material being processed

5. Prohibited use

Users must not use CardKit to:

  • Violate applicable law
  • Infringe intellectual-property rights
  • Distribute malware
  • Circumvent security controls
  • Attack or interfere with websites or systems
  • Process stolen credentials
  • Conduct fraudulent activity
  • Abuse the website infrastructure

6. Intellectual property

The CardKit name, website design, original documentation, tool interfaces and original website content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Users retain their rights to content they bring into the tools. Use of a CardKit tool does not transfer ownership of user content to CardKit.

7. Third-party trademarks

Etsy, Squarespace and other company or product names mentioned on CardKit belong to their respective owners. CardKit is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those companies unless explicitly stated otherwise.

8. Third-party services and links

CardKit may interact with or link to third-party websites, libraries, platforms or services. CardKit is not responsible for third-party availability, content, data handling, pricing, policy changes or technical behaviour.

9. Advertising

CardKit may display advertising. Advertising does not constitute an endorsement by CardKit of the advertised product or service. Users interact with advertisers and third-party websites at their own discretion.

10. Availability

CardKit may modify tools, add features, remove features, change website structure, suspend tools or discontinue tools without guaranteeing permanent availability.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CardKit is not responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses resulting from use of the website or its tools. This includes losses related to:

  • Lost code
  • Lost files
  • Website errors
  • Publishing errors
  • Broken layouts
  • Data loss
  • Business interruption
  • Third-party services

Users remain responsible for maintaining backups and testing output.
